Kirkwood Buff Integrals (KBI’s) are useful for understanding and characterising interactions in liquid systems. Kirkwood Buff Integrals have been studied in this context for a unique class of polymers known as glymes, which are widely utilised in a variety of industries such as refrigeration systems and heat pumps. The significance of this method resides in the fact that it uses only the initial parameters of the experimental values of ultrasonic velocity, density, and viscosity to calculate KBIs from reported thermodynamic data. Investigating the behaviour of these Integrals leads to a more in-depth understanding of these systems, allowing one to attempt to forecast the optimal composition for which the system operates most efficiently.
